When Donovan WaterWorks had been in operation for a couple of years, they approached us with their desire to have a booth at Baltimore County’s 2022 Home Show. As new business owners, they had no experience with booth design, so we were given full creative control to develop a cohesive, eye-catching presence.
We began by creating a mockup of the available booth space, collaborating with Donovan WaterWorks on details such as table size and booth height to ensure accurate dimensions.
One of the biggest challenges was designing the tablecloth. With little standard guidance available, we created our own template based on the dimensions of an average folding table. To account for variations in table sizes at different events, we designed the tablecloth with enough “wiggle room” to drape attractively on any similarly shaped table.
Flatlay designs for the primary banner, flag banner, and tablecloth
Thrilled with these initial elements, Donovan WaterWorks asked us to design two brochures for trade show distribution: a water treatment trifold and a fiberglass water heater bifold.
We then moved on to a series of “swag” items, beginning with four sticker designs—one featuring a stylized version of the Donovan WaterWorks logomark and three reflecting the company’s core values.
Next, we created a Home Maintenance Checklist that homeowners could use year-round to track preventive tasks. This checklist included placeholders for key service providers, with Donovan WaterWorks pre-filled as the go-to plumber. We also designed a tote bag that combined everyday functionality with on-brand appeal.
All of these materials were showcased at the 2022 Baltimore Home Show, where they received enthusiastic feedback.
Later that year, Donovan WaterWorks requested custom stickers exclusively for the Baltimore Garden Show, further expanding their trade show toolkit.
Today, most of these designs remain in use, supporting Donovan WaterWorks as they continue to participate in trade shows and sponsor local events across Baltimore. As the city’s first and only woman-owned and -operated plumbing company, Donovan WaterWorks continues to grow and give back to the community, and we are proud to be part of their ongoing success.
